Is Exosome Therapy The Future of Skin & Hair Rejuventation?
I’m super excited to announce that I have added a new treatment to the Timeless Aesthetics Menu - Exosomes!
It seems the aesthetic arena is finally catching up with what my ethos has been all along - NATURAL!
I’m sure you’ll agree, no one wants the risk of looking overdone or false. If we can have treatments that harness our own cells' ability to heal and regenerate, then I’m all for it.
The breakthroughs and developments in regenerative medicine for both skin and hair are simply astounding.
Let’s explore this exciting new treatment in more detail…
What Are Exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny, naturally occurring particles in our bodies that play a key role in cell communication and repair.
Think of them as messengers that deliver essential information between cells to promote healing, regeneration, and overall skin health.
In aesthetics, we use exosome treatments to harness their incredible ability to rejuvenate the skin or hair, leaving it looking refreshed, radiant, and youthful.
They are a breakthrough in regenerative medicine and offer a natural, science-backed solution to many skin and hair concerns.
How Do Exosome Treatments Work?
When applied and needled into the skin, exosomes stimulate your body’s natural healing processes.
They send powerful signals to your skin cells, encouraging:
-
Collagen production
-
Tissue repair
-
Hydration restoration
This makes exosomes ideal for reversing the signs of ageing, such as lax skin, lines, wrinkles, and sun damage, while improving skin texture.
Additionally, exosomes reduce inflammation and improve hydration.
When applied to the scalp, they promote new hair growth, increase thickness, and improve the overall condition of the hair.
Which Areas Can I Treat?
Exosome treatments are versatile and can be used on the following areas:
-
The whole face for full rejuvenation
-
The neck
-
Smaller, isolated areas such as the eyes or mouth
-
Scalp, targeting areas of thinning hair or bald patches
-
Full scalp for overall hair restoration
A course of treatments is always recommended for the best results.
The Benefits From Exosomes
Exosome treatments offer a wide range of benefits, including:
-
Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
-
Improving uneven skin tone and texture
-
Calming inflammation and redness (perfect for sensitive or post-treatment skin)
-
Enhancing the overall glow and health of your skin
-
Promoting new hair growth and improving thickness and texture

Where Do Exosomes Come From?
Safety has always been absolutely paramount to me.
I have, and will only ever, work with medical companies of the highest quality, safety, and standards.
The exosomes used in my clinic are from the Purosome range.
They are derived ethically and naturally from bovine colostrum. Colostrum is packed with essential growth factors and bioactive compounds.
The exosomes in the Purosome range are sourced from grass-fed Holstein cattle on organic-certified farms in Italy. This process is completely ethical—calves are prioritised to ensure they receive the colostrum they need for their health and development, with the remaining colostrum carefully collected for processing.
Every cow is strictly blood-tested each week by onsite vets to ensure patient safety. Through a highly advanced purification process, the exosomes and growth factors are isolated to ensure purity and potency.
This means every treatment uses a natural, organic product that aligns with my clinic’s commitment to quality and care.
Are Exosomes Backed by Medical Research?
Yes, exosomes are supported by extensive research, particularly in regenerative medicine.
They are being used across various medical fields, including dermatology, hair restoration, orthopaedics, and neurology.
In aesthetics, exosome treatments represent a breakthrough in skin and hair rejuvenation, offering a natural yet scientifically advanced option for those seeking to improve their appearance.
What’s the Difference Between Polynucleotides and Exosomes?
Both treatments improve wrinkles and skin laxity, but they work in different ways:
-
Polynucleotides: These repair tissue directly and are best suited for mild to moderate wrinkling. They are injected in micro-bolus amounts.
-
Exosomes: These provide more complex cell-to-cell communication and signalling. They are better suited for addressing skin laxity, advanced ageing, or overall rejuvenation. Exosomes are delivered via microneedling.
For maximum results, a combination of both treatments as a course is recommended. This allows you to target different aspects of skin and hair regeneration while reducing downtime, especially in delicate areas like the eyes.
What Is the Role in Hair Rejuvenation?
Both polynucleotides and exosomes are revolutionising the hair loss market.
With minimal downtime and discomfort, a course of either - or a combination of both - can help to promote hair growth and improve thickness and texture in both men and women.
Exosome treatments can even be used to treat sparse eyebrows, making them a versatile option for hair restoration.
Is This the Future of Skincare?
Imagine a treatment so advanced it can communicate directly with your skin and hair follicles, telling them to repair, rejuvenate, and even regrow. Exosome therapy is the latest breakthrough in skincare and hair restoration science, transforming the way we approach anti-ageing, skin health, and thinning hair.
At the cutting edge of regenerative medicine, exosomes are more than just another trend—they’re a natural, science-backed solution for achieving radiant, youthful skin and thicker, healthier hair. Whether you’re looking to reduce fine lines, calm redness, boost recovery after a treatment, or stimulate hair regrowth, exosomes could hold the key to unlocking your true potential.
What Is Medical Microneedling?
As we mentioned earlier, exosome treatments are delivered into the skin through microneedling, which enhances their ability to stimulate collagen production, tissue repair, and hydration. But what exactly is microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin treatment that uses tiny columns of micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.
This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production to help reduce wrinkles, lift out scars, and improve skin texture and pigmentation.
Medical microneedling differs from at-home devices because, as a medical professional, I have the scope to needle deeper into the dermis. This creates better results and allows growth factors and treatments like exosomes to penetrate deeper into the skin for enhanced outcomes.
Is Exosome Combined With Microneedling Painful?
The needling device is electronic and shaped like a pen, making the procedure very tolerable with minimal discomfort.
A numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment.
🎥 Watch the video below to see the Exosome Microneedling treatment in action.
What Is the Downtime From the Treatment?
After an exosome treatment, you can expect your skin to be pink for 24-48 hours.
The level of redness depends on the depth of the microneedling. Following this, the skin may become dry, but by day 6-7, it will be completely recovered.
I advise avoiding makeup for at least 24 hours post-procedure to minimise the risk of infection.
Additionally, you should stop using retinol products or other actives containing acid blends for at least five days prior to treatment and seven days after, until the skin has fully healed.
How Long Do Results Last?
Similar to polynucleotides, results from exosome treatments last between 6-12 months, with additional top-ups recommended thereafter.
A course of treatments each year is ideal for maintaining ongoing results.
Remember, lifestyle factors play a critical role in the longevity of your results.
